Samsung Manufacturing Information

Samsung

In the TV world, Samsung has gone from David to Goliath, giving Sony a run for its money in the “king of the mountain” spot for LCD TVs. Its latest lines bring quality and style to the table.

When some other manufacturers like Sharp or Sony were already producing color TVs, Samsung was just getting started late in 1969 making black and white TVs. However, despite their late start in the TV world, Samsung has grown to make a name for itself among the top electronics manufacturers in the world. From top-of-the-line LCD TVs to high-tech cell phones, Samsung devices are now common household products.

Lines

Samsung 6, 7, 8, and 950 series are the latest from the electronics behemoth we know as Samsung. Bringing design and high-end features into one small, well actually rather large screen, LCD TV package, Samsung is taking the lead in TVs and getting everyone to follow them.

The Samsung 6 and 7 series have gotten favorable reviews from experts. They liked the picture quality that came from the combination of 120hz and 1080p features. The Samsung 2008 lineup has also gotten high praise from owners across the internet. Users especially had a lot to say about the how much they liked the picture quality.

History

Along with having the title of the makers of the official HDTV of the NFL, the Korean-based Samsung manufactures a wide variety of electronics. Famous for its cell phones, Samsung has now also made a name for itself in TVs.

Starting out in the late 1960s, Samsung began production of black-and-white TVs. In the early ‘70s they moved into other household appliance like refrigerators and washing machines. It was only a matter of time before they started setting records. They were in the Guiness book of world records with the TV phone and Watch phone in the ‘80s. Samsung has also been named one of the world’s top 3 companies with the most patents.

Although they got a late start in the color television area, Samsung made its mark selling 4 million black and whites (the most in the world) and had a nice little cash cow there for a while. Color TVs soon took stride and Samsung jumped on that bandwagon, soon becoming the first to mass-produce and offer a full lineup of digital TVs in the late ‘90s.

Samsung’s name, in Korean, means “three stars” but for the last three or so decades now Samsung has provided five-star quality in their products. In 2002 the Samsung DLP TV won the “Grand Award” in the December issue of Popular Science magazine. This award, given to new technological products, was for innovative technology with quality and high-end features.

The company also had a close second behind Sony in a J.D. Power and Associates poll for customer satisfaction in their flat-panel televisions. In the 2007 poll Samsung ranked highest in ease of operation, appearance and styling.

Services

On their website Samsung has a “support search” helping you find what you need to get support for your television or any other products. Amidst news and alerts about updates for models and other support, you can find FAQs, an online request for service, and even a way to track the repair of your product from your home.

For the most part, owners are very satisfied with their TVs pointing out good picture quality and that they have had it for some time and have had no problems with it. Many think the products have surpassed Sony and other manufacturers in quality and products.

Summary

Samsung has made its mark on the TV world, bringing its “touch of color” lines to the table letting the TV world know they are serious about making TVs that stand out in design and quality. From award-winning models to high customer satisfaction, Samsung will continue to stay at the top of the TV world.
