Samsung LN46A750

The Samsung LN46A750 will make you stop and look again. The exceptional picture quality from the 120Hz refresh rate and the 1080p resolution had us feeling like we were just missing the salt spray and smell while watching Pirates of the Caribbean. It looked that real and had that much depth.

One of the latest in high-end models of LCD TVs, the Samsung 750 had us all but glued to the spot with the outstanding color quality and the quality performance on black levels. It took the show to a whole new level.

The high-end features aren’t the only reason to make you look again at this TV. Add on an eye-catching red trim that makes the whole chassis look scarlet, and it’s almost as stunning as the picture. Samsung’s 750 is sure to have you keep watching.

Standout Features

  •  120Hz refresh rate
  •  1920x1080 resolution (aka 1080p)
  •  Ethernet port
  •  4 HDMI ports

Features

Samsung has decided to take its “Touch of Color” idea to the 750, putting red trim around the entire casing. It gives the outside cover a nice scarlet-tinged look that doesn’t overwhelm you or take away from the picture. The downside is that if your room is decorated in blues, the red may not fit too well with your decorating scheme. But at the same time, it’s a nice change from the standard all-black and boring TVs.

New for Samsungs in 2008 is an Ethernet port. This gives you access to the internet through your TV screen. You will have the ability to access news, stock information, and even local weather. With the Samsung LN46A750, you can make use of a newsfeed that sits in the bottom corner of the screen to let you see some of the headlines.

The Samsung LN46A750 has a 120Hz refresh rate and 1920x1080 resolution that gives this TV exceptional picture quality. Even compared to other higher-end models with the same features, the 750 had a picture quality and depth that made the picture look real. Really, we thought Jack Sparrow was going to step off the screen. The 120Hz refresh rate made movement look smoother, and the clean and crisp quality of the 1080p continued to hold up when the scenes got darker.

Samsung has also included 4 HDMI ports on the 750: three on the back and one on the side. This will reduce the jumble of wires between your TV and DVD player and other add-ons. It takes that mass of wires between all your different devices down to a single cable and connecter for each, cleaning up the area behind your TV.

Summary of Reviews from Across the Internet

This set has a lot of features on it that are bound catch some attention. Expert reviewers were impressed with the number of feature options that the Samsung LN46A750 has to offer. However, as with Samsung’s other models featuring the “Touch of Color,” reviewers had a hard time with the red. For the most part, they liked the color but they realized that red might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Mostly reviewers were impressed with the picture quality and the black-level performance. The number of features that were easily accessible also was a hit with reviewers. It made Samsung’s 750 stand out above the crowd.

Summary

In short, the Samsung LN46A750 packs a punch in features and quality that will have you seeing red. With the top-tier picture quality in the 120Hz and the scarlet touch around the screen, Samsung’s 750 will look good whether it’s on or off.

"The kitchen sink" is a term used loosely when describing a feature set on any product, from cars to countertops, but in the case of the Samsung LN46A750, we're using it in the tightest sense. This 46-inch flat-panel LCD packs more feature punch than any
