Sharp Introduces First LED-Backlit AQUOS
Sharp is keeping up with the big boys. Yesterday they announced their latest TVs from a new 60” LCD to several LED TVs, Sharp is giving consumers an affordable mostly high-end entertainment solution. Ok, the TVs really aren’t all that exciting, it’s just good to see Sharp entering the LED TV market and giving Sony and Samsung a little competition.
If you’re a Sharp fan, these new TVs do sound pretty good. Actually, even if you aren’t a Sharp fan they sound pretty good. The first LED backlit AQUOS TV will have 1080p, 176-degree viewing angles and the new X-Gen Panel that takes blacks on the screen to blacker than black. Apparently it’ll be surreal. It’ll “be available in July” (can’t they say it’s available right now or this month?) for less than $3,000 for a 52” size. That’s less than either Sony or Samsung’s equivalent models.
Sharp also debuted two LCD models to finish up the E77 series. The new TVs also have a special new panel: Sharp’s Advanced Super View Superlucent Panel. It’s supposed to bring a new level of detail and color to the screen. The LC-65E77UM will be available in September for $4,500. And the LC-60E77UN will be available on September for $3,500.
