The Sony KDL 46xbr4 LCD television could possibly be the best LCD TV to date. The XBR line from Sony is known for its outstanding picture quality, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The TV features an attractive “floating” screen. The screen is mounted on what appears to be a glass background, offering a unique take on the traditional screen design. The downside is the amount of space taken up by the speakers on the sides. This can be difficult if the TV is to be used inside a cabinet.
The Sony KDL 46xbr4 offers 1080p resolution, which will allow for just about any video source to be connected. It boasts an 18,000:1 contrast ratio that provides some incredible black levels. The built-in tuner will make sure that you are not left in the dark when the transition is made to digital television in 2009. The set also provides 3 HDMI connections, which should be plenty for connecting any of your new HD gear.
