Silicon Mountain ALLIO All-in-One
Silicon Mountain will unveil its ALLIO TV at CES in January. This TV is the first of its kind and features a 42 inch HDTV, integrated PC and a Blu-ray player.TVs with built in DVD players (or VCRs in times of old) are nothing new but Silicon Mountain is taking this concept to a whole new level.
The specs for the new combo TV look pretty impressive: Intel Core2Duo E8400 processor, 4GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, and of course Windows Vista Home Premium. Having a computer built in opens up a world of possibilities for the TV. From PVR functions, to slide shows, to word processing to gaming, this TV can handle it all.
This perhaps could be the biggest thing to hit couch potatoes in some time. Now we really don't have any reason to get up off the couch. Open up your web browser on one side of the screen and watch football on the other side. Play your Xbox 360 in one screen while you play World of Warcraft in another.
No specs were immediately available for the TV, although it's probably safe to say that the TV will be a 1080p LCD TV, at least it better be if they hope to sell any.
Pricing for these TVs, er, computers starts at $1599 and $2799 gets you the biggest and fastest model described here.
