The Sony KDS-R70XBR2 is a big TV, even by big TV standards. This TV’s main selling point is none other than its 70 inch screen. The set appears even bigger since the speakers as mounted to the sides of the screen, rather than below. The set is mostly grey, with a black bezel that surrounds the screen on all sides. The appearance is nice and tidy with all buttons concealed beneath a trap door.
The Sony KDS-R70XBR2 features the standard 1080p resolution, the resolution of choice for the new Blu-Ray disc format. The Sony KDS-R70XBR2 also features a built in high definition tuner for receiving digital broadcasts over the air. Also featured is Sony’s digital reality creation video processing engine. This does an outstanding job of displaying crisp and detailed images. 3 HDMI inputs ensure that you will be able to connect all your digital devices with ease.
Expert reviews have been favorable. Black levels on the Sony KDS-R70XBR2 were above average even on the brightest settings. The picture quality was outstanding due to Sony’s SXRD technology, which uses 3 chips to display the image, each with a native resolution of 1920x1080. The consumers were overly impressed by the size of the screen and the amount of detail that was achieved in a screen this size.

You must see this RPTV in a darkened room with the proper settings to appreciate the excellence of this product. This is as good as it gets for $4400 (Appliance Best Buys) delivered. Forget LCDs and Plasmas- if you have two feet to spare for the depth of...
