The Samsung HL T5689s is a stunning and elegant piece of hardware.  A beautiful piano-black chassis displaying only the Samsung logo and power button please aesthetically as well as functionally.  Channel, volume, input and menu buttons are strategically hidden on the right side to not deviate from the set’s streamlined look and feel.  The speakers are located below the television and are only a few inches of space, emphasizing the large and beautiful screen, not to mention what lies inside it.

With features like picture in picture, a built-in digital tuner, adjustable color temperatures and 3 HDMI (one on the side) inputs, this seems like a run-of-the-mill RPTV - but this set was built to impress.  Visually stunning contrast ratios of 10,000:1 and Full HD 1080p support all come at no cost to the Energy Star compliant TV.  Using a single PhlatLight PT120 chipset, its colors appear saturated, vibrant and extremely bright.

Expert reviews rave about the set’s picture quality and handling of black levels in dark films such as Underworld Evolution.  The only complaint they have appears to be the remote control which has a poor layout scheme and not all buttons are illuminated.  Users who bought the Samsung HL T5689s have been extremely pleased with the picture and only wish the screen’s speakers could match the quality of its image.
